Questions
It is commonly said that Africa is the richest continent with the poorest people. So you ask: "what is wrong with being black?" Is there something genetically wrong with a coloured person? Why should Nigeria which is famously touted as the continental giant become infamous for all the wrong things?
Development! Development!! Development!!!
The issue with third world nations is a hydra but if there is a word that captures the dysfunction, I would go for 'development'. Guess that's why they are termed 'under-developed' countries. The angle which easily resonates is physical development but that is the least of our problems.
I am more concerned about Human Capital Development. The dearth of HCD at the core of Africa's woes which is usually compounded when the lack of it finds its way into top leadership positions.
OT OT - Just about made it back alive in one piece
Nigeria is barely on her feet again after socio-economic activities were almost grounded to a halt over the past two months. The litany of issues was (hopefully I can write this in past tense) led by fuel scarcity.
Fuel scarcity? In Nigeria? In 2016? In one of the world's top exporter of crude?
Isn't that more ridiculous than Leicester City Football Club winning the 2015/2016 Barclay's Premier League at the expense of the Big Five?
Hey no hard feeling, just saying. I hear the odds were stacked up against them. 1/5000 can you believe that?
Moving on!
Bla bla bla
Yes many may read political undertones to it. The Broom and The Umbrella can blame each other all they want but the summary is that we may not have learnt much since oil was discovered in Oloibiri many years ago.
We can therefore safely state that we have resources but we are far from being resourceful because there are countries more populous than Nigeria and most of them have no oil yet you don't hear or see these things owing to efficient management and strategic thinking.
We are more than this!
We are more than this. We are more than spending our productive hours on fuel queues. We are more than spending nights sweating instead of sleeping owing to epileptic power supply. We are more than people stealing our collective wealth. We are more than our citizens being slaughtered like animals in their own country. We are more than seeking loans when we have not efficiently manage the little we have. We are more than workers not being paid for months. We are more than this! We are Nigerians! We are more than this!
