How Honourable?
We all make mistakes. Every now and then we goof. We all are humans. However when this becomes a reccurent issue from the same source it becomes pertinent to ask questions. It is not so much what was allegedly said but the undertones associated with it.Does this mean some of our leaders habour an impunity mentality where they believe they can get away with anything? Does this mean women still have a long way to go?
George Orwell - Animal Farm
This dishonourable dinosaur may have long legs but he may have overstepped his lines. The dinosaur who still thinks he exists in prehistoric times where only male suffrage is entrenched. He should be reminded that this is 2016 and things have changed, female animals also have chairs in the circles of power. The dinosaur's dilemma is also compounded by whose lioness is involved - the Lion of Bourdillion. The Landlord, the Kingmaker and Chairman of the Jungle. The dinosaur will have some serious explaining to do because this Lion has sent many of his type into oblivion with a single roar. Like the Dino being an endangered specie is not bad enough, now he faces extinction. Especially since he nurses the remote ambition of being king of the jungle one day.
We men!
Away from the literary mischievousness, my core concern is really the perceived attitude towards the female folk. Again we keep exhibiting our underdevelopment, not only in critical infrastructure but in thinking. In a world where a Theresa May became the Prime Minister of the UK - unopposed. In a world where a Hillary Clinton stands head to head with billionaire Donald Trump in line for the US Presidency. We are here intimidating our women to cower into their holes. Like if we had our way, women will do what women have been known to be only good for - cook in the kitchen, clean the rooms, submit in the bedroom and churn out kids ultimately.
It is sad to say the least. It is sad how the world is moving on fast while we are still struggling with the respective definitions of men and women. No matter the provocation, restraint in public sphere is priceless. For someone who dreams of leading over 180 million people, he should know more about provocation. Dino didn't know!
Male and female created He them...
The timing of this is interesting, only weeks ago Olakunle Soriyan, "The Disruptor" did justice to this issue in the Men's Room, a boot camp for great men hosted by Onimisi Adaba. I will leave in your thoughts these inspired words he uttered:"What has been wrong is the mould that men have been in. Thinking that our best is defined by how inferior women can be. Transcending that smallness of thinking and understanding that the world has a right to experience the best of men and the best of women. Life is about roleplaying; everybody focusing on their highest good and the most important most urgent ideas in their life regardless of gender - that becomes a big thing we can rally around."
Thank you for reading!
Have yourselves an inspired life!
