"The Nigerian DNA" - Never give up!

We all have dreams and aspirations. We all have highest hopes and visions of greatness. Nobody wants to be at the bottom of the food chain. Everyone desires to be on top of their game - "walking in power". It's both a spiritual and human instinct to dominate and each man does his best to achieve that.



However, most times we find ourselves in contradictory circumstances. Our situations differ from our expectations. It's like the prince finding himself in a prison, a lion running away from another animal or having treasure on your inside but surrounded by trash on the outside - a diamond in the gutters.

What do you do when there exist such contradiction in your life? How do you handle the frustration of experiencing a life that is not consistent with you dreams?
I don't have universal answers to these questions but there is one thing I know - you cannot "get there" if you give up!
Hope is the last thing should ever lose because when there is life there is hope!

Just yesterday, at an event organized by RISE Networks in commemoration of the International Youth Day, one of the keynote speakers, the immediate past governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Raji Fashola beautifully captioned it as the 'Nigerian DNA'. The Nigerian DNA is the 'never-say-die' spirit that is innate in us. It's the will to go on. It's the fighting force we unleash in the face of adversity. It's an indomitable spirit!

That's what we need - all of us. Something that keeps us going. Inspiration for our aspiration. The message can be put in these three simple words: NEVER GIVE UP!
In due time you will be happy you didn't.
