It's a GREAT DAY.
One of the most frequently asked questions I get daily is "FD, How can I become a
GEMSTONE AMBASSADOR?"
Today, I thought I should share with you exactly how to become an ambassador of a
Generation that is Empowered Motivated and Stirred To Operate with Natural Excellence
(GEMSTONE).
First, permit me to share some background with you.
GEMSTONE is a non-governmental, non-political and non-partisan MOVEMENT ~ on a
mission to raise a critical mass of NATION BUILDERS across all segments of our
society, sectors of our economy and at all levels of our educational institutions.
Nation Builders are exemplary leaders of excellence who are committed to transforming
Nigeria into a most desirable nation to live in by WEDNESDAY 31st DECEMBER 2025.
One of the imperatives for our generation to succeed in building a new Nigeria is that
we must infuse a new set of VALUES into our social consciousness.
We have therefore articulated a set of lifestyle statements that form a personal value
code for every Nigerian starting with you and I to willingly adopt.
These lifestyle statements have four characteristics… A, B, C, D.
A: They are ACCEPTABLE to everyone and transcend our diverse culture, tribal
background, religious beliefs, age groups, social status and gender.
B: They are BENEFICIAL to everyone who adopts them. Those who have committed to
them have testified to how their personal lives, academics, careers, and wellbeing have
significantly improved (and indeed transformed) simply by committing to and living
these values.
C: They are COMMIT-able. These values are decision statements that can be committed
to immediately and for a lifetime.
D: They are DOABLE. They are not theoretical statements but can actually be lived out
on a daily basis.
To join this league of exceptional leaders committed to building a new Nigeria that our
generation would be proud to bequeath to our children and they would be glad to inherit
from us, please take a few moments to look through our 10-DAY START UP GUIDELINE
as written below.
Before you engage with this infusion process, please ask yourself & answer these three
very important questions:
1. WHY AM I DOING THIS?
2. WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO ME?
3. WHY MUST I SEE THIS THROUGH THE NEXT 10 DAYS (& NOT STOP AFTER TWO
OR THREE DAYS)?
You need your personal answers to these 3 questions to raise your conviction about the
importance of this life-transforming process to you.
And now, for the next 10days, all you have to do is; SAY it, SHARE it and SHOW it.
a. SAY it ...
I advise that you read out the creed card ALOUD at least once a day, preferably twice a
day (morning and evening). Better still, read it ALOUD with people you love (especially
family members).
Repetition Enhances Retention. By the 10th day, the words will have been engraved on
your heart and you will not need to read the card to remember or recite YOUR values.
b. SHARE it ...
Commit to share the values with at least 10 of the closest members of your family,
colleagues & friends. We also encourage you to share these values at your social or
religious gatherings. If you can, please write down the names of the 10 (or more)
people who you wish to share this lifestyle of leadership and excellence with.
Email the creed card as an attachment to them along with this cover message also. It
is important that you ENCOURAGE THEM to do the same.
Most importantly, please SHARE each of the 10 lifestyle statements on your social
media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram e.t.c.) over the next 10 days.
For example,
Day 1: "Today, I commit to MAKE A POSITIVE IMPACT ON EVERYONE I MEET &
EVERYWHERE I GO. So help me God’’.
Day 2: "Today, I commit to BE A SOLUTION PROVIDER & NOT A PART OF THE
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED. So help me God’’.
etc.
If you can, also make a picture/poster card a.k.a INFO-GRAPH (Information & graphics)
with the values statements. That would be wow!!
Also please like, follow and mention @WeAreGEMSTONE and @felaDUROTOYE on your
social media platform, with the hashtags # NewNigeria2025 or # MyValues
We would love to celebrate with you as soon as you achieve your goal of top ten.
Lastly,
c. SHOW it ....
Please do all you can to SHOW THE VALUES through your words and actions. I advise
that you do a small list of simple things to START, STOP, do MORE and do LESS.
If you are comfortable with it, you may wish to confidentially share your list of change
decisions with us onvaluestories@gemstoneng.org or better still, the stories of the
changes that you (or others) have made because of your commitment to live by these
values.
The next 10 days could be the most exciting days ahead and I look forward to sharing
them with you.
