Work, Work, Work, Work, Work!

Work that thing honey!

Interesting. I love the English Language - obviously. Many say it is not our original tongue; a "second language" they call it. Agreed. However in this day and age; given the world we live in - you might want to be open about that. To function in the global village; you must be able to effectively communicate the global language - except the guys in Malaysia, Germany and Qatar can understand your "village" dialect. Just saying.

Words

English words as we know has denotative and connotative meanings such that words both have literary and metaphoric meanings. It becomes more interesting when you begin to delve into exegesis, hermeneutics and etymology. There you will discover that most literature were written in languages other than the English Language and in the process of translating the original texts into English most of the true meanings were lost and some were misconstrued.
Work as we know it generally means a manifestation of energy. However the Creator's Mind when He asked man to "work" must be investigated.

Seeds

When God told Adam to "work" the garden, He really meant for Adam to groom and grow not just the physical garden of Eden but also to propagate His Kingdom (values, concepts, governance) to all the ends of the earth. Thus when God says "work" He is actually saying "become".
The beautiful thing about creation is that everything has embedded in them the seeds of greatness. This is why the first thing God commanded man to do was to be "fruitful". For Him to have said that, it necessarily means that man must be first "seedful". In other words, you cannot be fruitful if you're not first seedful. Thank goodness you already have seeds!

"Work Out"

Trust me this has nothing to do with the gym. So "work" for an egg is to "become" an adult I.e the metamorphosis from eggs to caterpillar (larve) to chrysalis (pupa) to butterfly (Imago). Work for an acorn then means to become an oak tree. Work for an apple seedling is to become an apple tree then an apple orchard. So work for man doesn't necessarily mean employment but for him to become who he was originally designed to become. Work therefore for man is for his potentials to become realities. Work for Nigeria is for us to take what we have been given or endowed with and harness it so well that we produce the world's most desirable nation.

This is because the future is not necessarily a forth-coming time zone rather it is what we are but have not yet become. The future is not ahead of us; it's inside of us!
That's why we usually say "delivering the future".
You work it out because God has already worked it in. In other words, your potentials are "built-in" but it must be worked out to manifest. Hence the saying "work out your own salvation".

You Have Been Told!

Embedded in everything God created is an instruction "Be Fruitful". That is why when you plant a seed of corn in the ground; it knows it has to "become" a stock of corn. This is why animals mate because something in them tells them to reproduce or be "fruitful". If plants and animals can be this 'intelligent' to know what to do, how much more man who is at the zenith of God's creation!
The greatest mistake you will do is to do nothing with what you have been given - like the unprofitable or "unfruitful " servant who hid what he was given in the ground
Usually they say "work that thing your mama gave you". I say "work that thing your heavenly Father gave you!".
So work that thing honey; work it good. All day; everyday!
